We all make mistakes. We all have once said things and done things we wish we hadn't. When we make bad decisions or poor choices, we will live with the consequences in this world. God wants us to learn from our mistakes and use them for our good. We need to ask ourselves every time when we are pressing forward if we are gaining more wisdom from our past mistakes. We can not change our past. But we can change how we view the circumstances and what to do differently with them. Not making any mistakes anymore and become perfect is not the goal, but perceiving those mistakes properly and learning from them should be the goal.
When we are growing in Faith and Wisdom in the Lord we are able to do fewer mistakes. As we are getting wiser we don't lean on our own understanding, but we do trust the Lord with all our heart and we continue to meditate on the Word of God to have new results. The bible says in Proverbs 26:11-12 that like a dog that returns to its vomit, a fool does the same foolish things again and again. We need to let go all the dangerous things around us and look for new opportunities to do always better. As a child of God we also need to learn how to repent and to not give up after a mistake. God will always help us to walk in the right way if we receive his forgiveness.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
Many of us don't receive God forgiveness because we are unable to forgive ourselves. satan will always bring our past and remind us of our mistakes. We need to resist him by speaking the word of God against Him. Dwelling in our mistakes is limiting us in our callings. God wants us to press toward our calling instead of focusing on our past mistakes. When we are keeping busy with God's work, we are more able to let go of our past and become a significant part of helping others grow as well.
“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”
Philippians 3:13-14
In regard to our mistakes, we need to know that God is the God of second chances. He is always offering us his favor and won't turn away from us. He is faithful to his people. He will not abandon you and His plans for you will never change. God's will for you is right here whether in your regrets or your deceptions. God has a plan for your life and no mistakes can change it. If you trust Him he will lead you and support you till the end.
So if you are living with the consequences of your mistakes today, you need to remember that God is your forgiving heavenly Father. Don't forget that SOMETIMES YOU WIN, SOMETIMES You lose (John Maxwell)
Remember GOD's faithfulness to you and that He ALWAYS makes EVERYTHING turn around for your good.
